The past week or so I found myself getting really down about being able to raise enough funds to start this internship in January. I felt like I kept running into skeptic after skeptic and before I knew it I was accepting defeat before I'd even started.
TODAY changed that. Today was absolutely incredible. Today was, yet again, another day of God working in my life. I met with a man by the name of Larrie who is the director of international missions at CCV. He absolutely blew me away. The point of meeting with him was to discuss my fundraising, but in the end we sat and talked for an hour just getting to know each other. He spent 20 some years in corporate America as an IT Tech for IBM. He traveled the world for his job and made a ridiculous amount of money before he traded that gig in to work for CCV. He was one of the original signers with the church back in the 70's. He now is the President and Founder of a very unique program at CCV called StreetLight. It is a mission to help rehabilitate victims of sex-trafficking in Phoenix. He also directs all of the international mission trips with CCV. The point of the story is that through meeting with Larrie, it has reaffirmed my strong desire to get into ministry with CCV. They do an incredible job of offering tangible, hands on experiences to its members and staff. They are a living and ACTIVE church--- something I've never been a part of. I found myself crying in my car after I left the meeting because I cannot believe how incredibly lucky I am to have the opportunity to jump on board with such an incredible team. I cannot wait to get involved on a daily basis and see how God can use me in this great big jig-saw puzzle of life. I am SOOOOOOO ridiculously, stupidly excited!!! I cannot contain myself. Praying that God works in the hearts of those I contact to help get me started on this mission as soon as possible!!
LOVE. LOVE. LOVE.
